Penza Region Honors Egyptian Youth in Sochi Festival

As part of the activities of the World Youth Festival in Sochi, Russian regions honor foreign delegations participating in the events.

The Penza region in central Russia, with a population of 300,000, chose Egypt to honor the Egyptian youth participating in the 20th edition of the World Youth Festival in Sochi.

Sherif Gad, the deputy head of the Egyptian delegation, and Dr. Hassan Ghazali, a member of the delegation, were welcomed by Artem Kolupov, the head of the Penza region delegation, at the festival grounds for a meeting between the two delegations.

Artem warmly welcomed the large and distinguished Egyptian delegation upon their arrival in Sochi and extended an invitation for the Egyptian delegation members to visit the Penza region.

He spoke about the unique features of the Penza region in the fields of industry, culture, science, and arts.

The Penza region delegation presented a special artistic performance to the Egyptian delegation, including folk dances and popular songs from Russian folklore in traditional attire.

The Egyptian delegation joined their friends from the Penza region in celebrating Russian culture through Russian folk songs and dances.

Egyptian artist Mohamed Ezzat performed musical pieces on the oud (lute) and also participated with the youth from the Penza region in celebrating Egyptian songs and culture.

Sherif Gad discussed the Egyptian delegation consisting of 126 young people, highlighting the historical features of Egyptian civilization.

He welcomed the youth from the Penza region to visit Egypt to learn more about its ancient civilization.

Hassan Ghazali, in his speech, expressed their visit to Sochi as an opportunity to explore different cultures with an open and loving heart for culture.

He emphasized that Egyptian civilization is the cradle of culture, having embraced various civilizations and cultures throughout history.

Ghazali reiterated that Egyptians have always been accustomed to openness to world cultures due to their history and geographical location, remaining open to all cultures.

At the end of the meeting, the two delegations exchanged commemorative gifts, emphasizing their desire for communication and mutual visits between the Penza region and Egypt.
