Deputy Assistant Secretary Kimberly Jackson of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) revealed that the provision of US military aid to Ukraine has complicated the process of tracking US weapons stockpiles.
"This is a responsible and intensive process in which we can consider the demands coming from the Ukrainians," she said in an online speech at the Center for a New American Security.
It is noteworthy that last November, the Republicans in the US House of Representatives introduced a bill to review the funds allocated for aid to Ukraine.
While the American Wall Street Journal (WSJ) said that the Pentagon secretly modified the advanced missile systems it sent to Ukraine, to make them unable to hit targets inside Russia and escalate the war.
The United States has supplied Ukraine with 20 HIMARS missile systems since last June, but the weapons have been uniquely modified so that they cannot launch long-range missiles, according to what the Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials.
