The National Elections Authority (NEA), headed by Counselor Lashin Ibrahim, Vice President of the Court of Cassation, announced Sunday the regularity of voting on the second and last day of the first phase of the House of Representatives elections, at 10240 sub-committees.
Ibrahim said that all the sub-committees opened their doors on time from 9 am to 9 pm, adding that the 12,000 judges supervising the committees make sure that the windows are safe and that the ballot boxes or electoral papers are not tampered with.
He pointed out that the doors of the committees were opened to receive the voters, who began arriving amid strict precautionary measures to prevent the novel coronavirus.
The head of NEA noted that the voting is scheduled to stop temporarily at 3 pm for a one-hour break for the judges.
Moreover, he stressed that the NEA did not monitor any complaints or obstacles that would affect the conduct of the electoral process.
