PAM Welcomes Ceasefire Announcement between Gaza, Israel

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean(PAM) affirmed on Friday its full support for the ceasefire reached between Gaza and Israel.

In addition, PAM expressed its solidarity with all the civilians, victims and their families, affected by the militarily confrontation.

PAM commends the mediation efforts of its member states, which put an end to the hostilities.

Furthermore, PAM stresses the need for all concerned parties to uphold the ceasefire and endeavour to maintain peace.

PAM encourages the international community to respond generously to the humanitarian appeal to provide the necessary support for the Palestinian people to rebuild their livelihood.

In the same vein, Parliament Deputy Speaker Mohamed Abou El-Enein praised the success of the Egyptian efforts in the ceasefire in Gaza and imposing a truce between the two sides.

Abou El-Enein said that this reflects Egypt’s strength in the region and its strong international influence.

The Parliament Deputy Speaker added that this step confirms President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s keenness to immediately ceasefire and restore security and stability in the region.
