The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the colonists defy the executive order signed by US President Joe Biden imposing sanctions on a number of them who committed attacks against Palestinian citizens, their land and property, and continue their attacks in various parts of the West Bank.

The Foreign Ministry indicated in a press statement today, Saturday, that colonists carried out attacks against the people of the Ras Al-Auja community, and prevented farmers from grazing their livestock in Jericho, while the occupation forces prevented citizens from entering their lands in the Umm Tir area in Musafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the midst of them. And who stands behind them in the occupation government to continue spreading chaos, intimidating citizens, and stealing their lands, in the context of completing the crimes of gradual annexation of the West Bank for the benefit of settlement.

She added: These provocative attacks are a reflection of positions issued by ministers in the Israeli government shortly after the signing of the American executive order, as the extremist Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich confirmed at the time that he would continue to work to strengthen settlements even if American sanctions were imposed on him, and the fascist Minister Ben Gvir also claimed that the settlers They are the ones who are exposed to attacks and other reactions that often deny the reality of the encroachment of the colonialist militias, under the protection of the occupation forces, on the Palestinian citizens, their land, their property, their homes, their vehicles, and their sanctities

The Foreign Ministry pointed out that the Israeli government does not pay any attention to international and American demands calling for stopping colonization or holding accountable those responsible for the colonialists’ violence against the Palestinians, as demanded by the US State Department.

She pointed out that international reactions to settlement and settler violence and terrorism are still weak, despite the developments in states’ rejection of colonialism and the imposition of a number of sanctions on the colonialists, but they remain insufficient and do not constitute deterrent sanctions to stop their violations and crimes.

It called for placing colonial organizations on terrorist lists, imposing deterrent sanctions on their members, officials, and those behind them in the Israeli government, and exerting real pressure on the Israeli side to dismantle them, disarm them, lift their protection, and arrest and prosecute the perpetrators of crimes against the Palestinians.

Last Thursday, the United States of America announced the imposition of sanctions on a number of Israeli colonists accused of committing acts of violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

American officials explained that these sanctions come within the framework of a decree issued by President Joe Biden aimed at punishing people accused of committing attacks or “terrorist acts” or “undermining peace, stability and security” in the occupied West Bank.
