The recognition of the Palestinian state by Ireland, Norway, and Spain has been welcomed by Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian Envoy for the United Nations (UN).
Mansour expressed his hope that this wave of recognition from European countries would inspire other nations to follow suit.
He emphasized that Palestinian countries deserve full membership at the United Nations and highlighted the significant support for Palestinian recognition among the majority of UN General Assembly members and the UN Security Council.
Mansour also criticized Israel for challenging everyone instead of listening to strong international voices.
After addressing reporters, he took pictures with the permanent UN representatives from Norway, Ireland, and Spain. It is worth noting that this announcement comes at a time when Israel continues its attacks on the Gaza Strip, despite UN Security Council resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire. Currently, eight European countries have recognized Palestine, including Bulgaria, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Sweden, and the Greek Cypriot government.
