Palestine's Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki expressed his hope that the Arab countries will help his country in holding Britain and the US accountable for reparation for the damage caused to the Palestinian people as a result of the ominous "Balfour Declaration".
In a press conference Sunday in Algiers in the Algerian capital, Al-Maliki said the topic of the 105th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration should take its rightful place in the Arab summit that will be held in two days.
"Britain and the United States must be condemned. We hope that the Arab countries will help us in the matter of Britain and the United States, as a result of the harm done to the Palestinian people. We will demand Britain to respect the rights of the Palestinian people that were wasted as a result of this decision (Balfour Declaration)," he added.
The Palestinian minister highlighted that the international community is turning its back on the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, while it should have taken practical steps to punish Israel for its actions.
He also pointed out that Algeria's declaration of unity among the Palestinian factions had no reservations about it, stressing that it represents a glimmer of hope for the Palestinian people in ending this division.
Al-Maliki demanded to keep the Arab Peace Initiative alive and provide support for it and return to its adoption by all Arab countries, which he hopes will fulfill their obligations toward the Palestinians.
