Japanese authorities have issued a decision to initiate the evacuation of residents in the prefectures of Aichi, Mie, Nara, Kyoto, Wakayama, and Tokushima due to Typhoon "Lan," which is hitting several areas in Japan.
According to data published by local administrations in the mentioned regions, orders have been issued to evacuate 559,759 people due to the typhoon.
A correspondent from Sputnik reported that the Japanese city of Osaka has begun experiencing strong winds and increased rainfall.
The typhoon is expected to hit this city on Tuesday afternoon. Experts estimate that Kansai International Airport in Osaka may experience winds with speeds of up to 31.9 meters per second.
Loudspeakers in the city have started warning about the approaching typhoon, and citizens are being urged to check the opening times of evacuation centers.
According to the correspondent, stores in the city have been closed, and more than 500 flights have been canceled. Additionally, the Shinkansen train station has been closed.
The typhoon is currently located just 40 kilometers southeast of the city of Wakayama. It is currently moving towards Osaka at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
The wind speed in the center of the typhoon reaches 30 meters per second, with gusts of wind reaching up to 40 meters per second.
