Over 2,000 applications from 81 regions of the country have been submitted for the 11th All-Russian Award "For Fidelity to Science". The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 24 October 2025. The winners will be able to attend the 5th Congress of Young Scientists and will also receive a unique opportunity to travel on a nuclear icebreaker, according to TV BRICS.
"We note the high level of the projects, their wide geography and variety of formats. This clearly confirms that the popularisation of science in Russia has reached a new level of quality and continues to develop dynamically," said Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
The projects submitted for the award cover a wide range of formats, from popular science podcasts and documentaries to interactive master classes, major science festivals, longreads, science shows, television programmes, and social media content.
The leaders in terms of the number of applications were Moscow and the Moscow Region with more than 500 projects, St. Petersburg with more than 180, as well as the Tyumen Oblast, Novosibirsk Oblast, Krasnodar Territory, Rostov Oblast and the Republic of Tatarstan. The nominations that attracted the most interest were "Science for Children," (648 applications) "Digital Content Author," (315) and "Scientific Press Service of the Year" (202).
Andrey Gula, Director of the TV BRICS Laboratorium production project, has been nominated in the "Digital Content Author" category. This is a series of programmes dedicated to scientific discoveries and the latest Russian developments.
"The Laboratorium project was created to talk about science in a simple and interesting way. Participation in the award allows us to present Russian discoveries to viewers from all over the country and inspire young people to engage in scientific research," Gula emphasised.
All applications are evaluated by an expert council, which includes journalists, scientists, representatives of government agencies, foundations, companies and NGOs. The final decision on the winners is made by the organising committee.
The event is organised by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. TV BRICS is the international media partner of the award.
