OIC Dispatches Mission to Monitor Parliamentary Elections in Kurdistan Iraq

At the invitation of the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq, the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation dispatched a mission of observers to observe the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which took place on October 20, 2024.

The OIC team observed the electoral process in a number of polling stations in the city of Erbil and its suburbs. It held meetings with officials of the Independent High Electoral Commission and received a briefing on the organization of the electoral process, its progress, and the measures taken to ensure its success.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation congratulates the Iraqi people on the successful organization of the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
