OIC Discusses Preparations for New Program Draft

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, said that contributions to the OIC Program of Action: 2026-2035 have been received by the OIC General Secretariat from no less than 25 OIC Member States.

This came at the opening session of the second Intergovernmental Group of Experts meeting on the OIC Ten-Year Program of Action 2026-2035 which is being held on 27-29 January 2025 at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah.

In a statement delivered on his behalf by Ambassador Samir Bakr Diab, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, the Secretary-General added that the new Ten-Year Program of Action should reflect the priorities and aspirations of all Member States, noting that the active participation and valuable contributions of Member States are essential and ensure that the Program of Action truly meets the needs and interests of the entire Ummah.

The Secretary-General explained that the strategic goals addressed by the meeting would serve as the basis for a strong and effective Program that addresses the pressing challenges facing the Muslim world. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha concluded his statement by emphasizing that the OIC Program of Action is a vital tool for promoting the collective interests of the Muslim world, expressing his confidence that through collective efforts, a strong and effective Program of Action can be developed that would serve as a roadmap for the next decade and beyond.
