The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Election Observation Mission dispatched by the Secretary-General, H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, to the Kyrgyz Republic to observe the local Council elections, noted with satisfaction that the polls were conducted in a peaceful and organized manner, in line with Kyrgyz election laws and acceptable International standards.
In this regard, the Secretary-General congratulated the people and government of Kyrgyzstan for successfully conducting the elections, which would contribute to the strengthening of democratic practices and institutions towards greater development and progress for the country and its people.
