The members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee, open-ended to discuss the recent and repeated desecration of the Holy Qur’an, called for by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting stressed the need for collective measures to be taken against such acts, along with a package of decisive measures by the Organization and the international community to combat Islamophobia.
In their meeting in Jeddah yesterday, the Member States of the OIC expressed their strong condemnation and denunciation of the repeated, despicable acts of some burning copies of the Holy Qur’an under the false pretext of freedom of opinion and expression, which contradicts the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
