Historical Series A Inter Milan got new American owners, Oaktree Capital Management, on Wednesday, after the club's Chinese holding company missed €395 million ($428m) payment.
In 2021, Suning, the owning company of Inter, was guaranteed the loan by the firm's stake in the club.
Under such a scheme, Oaktree had the potential right to take control of the club in in case the company failed to pay the loan.
Oaktree managing director Alejandro Cano said: "Our initial focus is operational and financial stability. We have great respect for Inter Milan's management team."
Inter becomes the seventh Serie A club under American ownership after AC Milan, Atalanta, Fiorentina, Roma, Genoa and newly-promoted Parma.
Inter won the Serie A title 20 times since its founding in 1908. It also has two of the top players like Lautaro Martínez and Nicolò Barella.
