On Friday, the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced that the Egyptian National Seismic Network (ENSN) Lab. recorded a 5.2-magnitude earthquake 710 km away from Cairo.
The earthquake took place in northwest Cyprus at 9:13:15 pm (Cairo time), NRIAG added in an official statement.
No casualties were recorded.
NRIAG Chief Taha Rabeh elaborated that several citizens in Egypt, especially in Cairo felt the earthquake, adding that the center of the earthquake was far away from Egypt, and near the earth's surface.
Rabeh added that NRIAG didn't receive any reports about injuries, or damages.
