The Nobel Prize Committee has commented on the latest developments in the Ethiopian Tigray conflicts, according to Reuters.

The committee has shown its concern regarding the non-stopping violence in the region. In addition, it has called all parties of the conflicts to stop the fight.

Also, it has urged the responsible parties to seek peace through dialogue and peaceful measures instead of violence, adding that it is observing the updates of the region's crisis regularly.

Abiy Ahmed won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019 for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighboring Eritrea.

A few weeks ago, a number of armed conflicts have been erupted in the region between Tigray forces and the national Ethiopian army. Moreover, the Tigray troops attacked the airport of Asmara, the Eritrean capital.

These violent acts force thousands of Ethiopians to flee to Sudan on their feet returning to the refugee camps they abandoned for years.
