New Giza continued their impressive run in the Over-35 League after securing a convincing 5–2 away victory over Wadi El Nile El Maamoura in the final match of the first round.
The encounter was held at Wabour El Mayah Stadium in Alexandria.
The visitors started the match with great focus and high pressing across the pitch, imposing their dominance from the opening minutes. Their early control paid off as Amr Rasekh, Akram Abed, and Khaled Baradaei found the net, giving New Giza a comfortable three-goal lead by halftime.
The second half was far more competitive, with both sides showing strong determination. New Giza substitute Mohamed Farid made an immediate impact, scoring two goals shortly after coming on to extend his team’s advantage.
El Maamoura responded through their standout player Ghobashy, who converted two penalty kicks to reduce the deficit. Despite the goals conceded, New Giza maintained control of the match until the final whistle, sealing a deserved 5–2 win.
Following the match, Head Coach Yasser El Khatib and Assistant Coach Ahmed Osman congratulated the players on their performance, praising their discipline and attacking efficiency.
With this result, New Giza officially qualify for the second and final stage of the championship, where they will compete against Krom, Target, and El Maamoura from Group Two, alongside Sporting, Nogoom El Hadra, Smouha, and Degla Alexandria who advanced from Group One.
Attention now turns to cup action, as New Giza begin preparations for their Egypt Cup Round of 16 clash against El Obour, scheduled to take place at the end of January.
