The iconic journalist and TV host Ahmed Mousa has called on the Egyptian citizens to sign a petition in support of Egypt's rights in the Nile waters after negotiations with the Ethiopian side have faltered.

In his talk show "Ala Masoulity" aired on "Sada ElBalad" TV channel, Mousa appealed to Egyptians to sign an online petition claiming our rights in the Nile waters.

Moreover, he thanked the Egyptian community in America for holding a vigil in front of the White House to back the Egyptian state.

He continued: "There is no life without water, and we want everyone to join hands to support the state," adding, "I ask the parliament to take an action to preserve the rights and lives of the 100 million Egyptians."

The members of the Egyptian community in New York, New Jersey, and Washington organized a protest in front of the White House to support the Egyptian position in the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) talks after it faltered because of the Ethiopian side absence from the negotiations' last round in the US under the auspices of the American administration and the World Bank.

This protest was a result of an invitation made by a delegation of Egyptian professionals and academics in the United States; they called for a signature campaign for all the Egyptian communities in America and the world, and to send an open message to US President Donald Trump to urge him to activate the Renaissance Dam negotiations among Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan.
