On Thursday, Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced the epidemiological situation in Moscow remains uncertain although during the New Year's holidays there was a slowdown in the coronavirus spread.
Sobyanin urged Moscow's residents to observe social distance and use the protection means, and called on enterprises and organizations to meticulously follow sanitary doctors’ instructions.
Russia Coronavirus Situation Remains Serious
New Year's pause stopped the increase in COVID-19 cases, thanks to non-working days and a two-fold decline in the passenger traffic in public transport, many chains of coronavirus spread have been broken.
Later, on November 2020, the Russian State Scientific Center for Virus and Biotechnology Research reported that the mass vaccination process for the Russian population, with the center’s vaccine against the Coronavirus, is expected to begin in 2021.
The director-general of the center, Rinat Maxiotov, said in an interview with a website specialized in following up on pandemic affairs in Russia, last November that it is planned to launch a mass vaccination campaign in the year 2021.
In addition, the post-registration tests for the “Epivac Corona” vaccine developed by the “Victor” Center begun in past December, explaining that it included 40,000 volunteers and will last for 6 months from the date of vaccination of the last participant in the experiment.
