The Morrocan “Fall of Apple Trees” will be screened at the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) Horizons of Arab Cinema screenings today. It will be screened at 12:30 pm at the Cairo Opera House small hall.
Directed by Mohamed Moftakar, the film revolves around a ten-year-old girl, who never meets or knows her mother after she disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Moreover, her father denies her.
The film stars Fatima Khair, Saad Tsouli, Naima Lemcharki, Mohamed Tsouli, Hassan Bedida, Ayoub Lyousfi and Anas Bajoudi.
Today's screening is the film's first international release. Last March, it won the Grand Prize of the National Film Festival in Tangier.
The 42nd edition of CIIF kicked off on 2 December at Cairo Opera House. In this edition, 84 films will be displayed.
The opening ceremony included different tributes to English screenwriter Sir Christopher Hampton, Egyptian scriptwriter Wahid Hamed, and Egyptian Actress Mona Zaki.
