Jaime Naranjo Ortiz, head of the Chile-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group, emphasized the significance of his discussions with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
The talks focused on leveraging the geopolitical advantages and geographical locations of both countries.
Naranjo Ortiz highlighted that the discussions in Rabat with Minister Bourita affirmed the alignment of both nations on various issues, such as promoting international peace, consolidating democracy, advancing women's status, and enhancing bilateral trade exchanges.
He added that Morocco's leadership, under King Mohammed VI, has spurred significant development, positioning the country strongly in numerous regional and international organizations.
This enables Morocco to play a pivotal role in promoting South-South cooperation, particularly between Africa and Latin America.
In a press conference following the talks, Naranjo Ortiz observed firsthand the remarkable progress Morocco has made in various fields. This progress positions Morocco to play a central role in Africa and in strengthening the continent's relations with Latin America as a whole.
The Chilean parliamentarian noted that Morocco, with its Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines, and Chile, with its Pacific coastline, can play a significant role in enhancing regional cooperation, particularly between Africa and Latin America.
