Many jewelry designers sell their work at bazaars and the Made in China label accessories can be found everywhere.

However, few designs have an identity and bear the imprint of art, sophistication and beauty, which are pieces that undoubtedly add a lot to women's elegance.

Young designer Mohamed Abul-Ela , founder of the Egyptian label Mela, has always delivered dazzling collections and designs that combine art and simplicity that rely on wood.

*Passion is the beginning

Abul-Elabegan designing at a young age, starting by making rosaries and earrings.

He used the available stone materials in the stone market to make pieces that matched his designs in color or shape.

The designer decided to excel in the material in which he created his designs.

He finished his studies at the Faculty of Arts, Department of French Language, and entered the field of work, but his passion for jewelry making did not stop.

Abul-Ela decided to rely on a specific type of wood characterized by its lightness to make his designs and create wonderful and unique pieces.

*Brand Identity

In the world of fashion, designers must establish an identity that differentiates them and what they offer.

For Abul-Ela, his brand identity was new wood or recycled wood to protect the environment.

He begins his woodwork by drawing designs on the computer, implementing them, and then assembling them with other parts, whether copper, metal, or mirrors.

In every collection, he adds a new touch to the designs, this time

he introduced cotton macramé threads to the wooden designs.

*Design brilliance

Abul-Ela presented various collections since the foundation of his brand more than three years ago.

The designer presented an Islamic collection in an exhibition held at the Maqad of Sultan Qaitbey Monument. He also designed a Pharaonic collection and a geometric shapes collection.

Abul-Ela most wonderfully, does everything by hand, apart from the laser cuts of the wooden pieces he creates.

*Addition for women

The bag is an important part of women's elegance that cannot be foregone.

This is something Abul-Ela  discovered while working in the jewelry field, thus he decided to enter the field of bags and enter with the identity he established for his brand, which is wood.

He presented designs of extreme elegance and distinction, which made 90% of his designs sold out in the first bazaar he participated in.

*Foreigners impressed

The designer relies mainly on online marketing, in addition to the bazaars in which he participates, especially the bazaars held in cultural centers.

Abul-Ela participated in a bazaar at the French Cultural Center and held two bazaars over two years in Ireland. He said: "Most of my clients are foreigners in addition to young Egyptians who seek distinction and sophistication."
