The Libyan city of Misurata is in a state of tension after Fayez al-Sarraj’s decision to transfer his interior minister, Fathi Bashagha - from Misurata - to investigation before the Presidential Council and suspend him from work.
Several militias from the city of Misurata mobilized their forces and declared a state of emergency between the units after the Tripoli militia celebrated the decision to suspend Bashagha from work.
Threats also spread through militia pages to repeat the Libya Dawn operation, in which armed militias destroyed the capital, Tripoli, killing hundreds, and the only civilian airport in the capital was destroyed at the time, in protest to the decision to suspend Bashagha.
In a kind of defiance, Bashagha issued a statement responding to Al-Sarraj's decision, in which he welcomed the investigation but demanded that it should be public and live.
