Missing Football Star Christian Atsu's Found Dead following Turkey Quake

After 11 days of missing under the rubble, the body of Ghanian Football star Christian Atsu was found dead, Saturday, under the remains of his home. 

The star was reported missing since the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria.

Atsu's agent, Nana Sechere, tweeted: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu's body was recovered this morning My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support.

"I ask that whilst we make the necessary arrangements, that everyone would please respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time."

Atsu played for different clubs in the Premier League such as Chelsea, Bournemouth, Everton, and Newcastle for eight years.

He was moved to his final club, Hatayspor, in 2022 from the Saudi Al Raed.

The late soccer participated with Ghana national team in FIFA World Cup in 2014 and was selected among the 2014 FIFA World Cup Squad.

Also, he won the Best Player at the Africa Cup of Nations 2015.
