The British daily newspaper, "Mirror", reported that a number of retired troopers of the British special forces had volunteered to go to Ukraine "to support the defense of the country."
The newspaper reported that former military personnel, aged between 40 and 60, held a series of meetings to discuss Kyiv's support and that among them were "snipers and highly qualified experts in the use of anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles."
According to the Mirror, "ex-paratroopers" and "other UK military specialists" may later join Ukrainian Special Forces units.
The British newspaper, "The Telegraph", said that the British armed forces will issue a warning on Tuesday to its soldiers that they are not allowed to go to Ukraine "whether they are retired or not."
The newspaper added that the British army feared an escalation of the conflict if the presence of British soldiers in Ukraine was detected.
A source in the British Foreign Office said that if Britons went to Ukraine to "fight the Russians", there could be "legal consequences", noting that this is legally ambiguous.
