The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, through the Higher Committee for Petroleum Projects, is currently implementing several new projects to achieve sustainability and reduce carbon emissions.
Currently, 16 new projects are being implemented to achieve sustainability and reduce emissions in 13 companies affiliated with the ministry in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, and Suez.
These projects aim to recover 25 million cubic feet of gas per day by reducing carbon emissions by about 584,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
The Ministry’s agencies are implementing the WASTE HEAT RECOVERY project in the Dahshur station through Gasco, and the project aims to increase the amount of gas pumped to Upper Egypt.
Several projects are being implemented, including the construction of a coking complex, the production of diesel, and the establishment of a butane extraction unit through the Suez Petroleum Processing Company. Energy efficiency and reduction of emissions that affect the environment through the implementation of the Energy Management System.
