Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, held a meeting to follow up on projects to protect the Egyptian beaches and the joint coordination between the Beaches Protection Authority and the Beaches Research Institute to benefit from the distinguished research capabilities of the institute.
During the meeting, Dr. Swailem reviewed the ministry's efforts in the field of protecting beaches, as work is currently underway to implement works to protect beaches with lengths of up to 45 km, in addition to the project "Enhancing adaptation to climate changes in the northern coast and the Nile River Delta", where the protection of beaches in lengths of up to 58 km has been completed.
The minister stated that the coastal protection projects, especially in the Nile River Delta, represent a successful model for real work to adapt to climate changes and serve and protect citizens and facilities, especially since the phenomenon of climate change and sea level rise represents a major challenge.
