The Egyptian Armed Forces thwarted a drug smuggling attempt on the northeastern borders as part of the Armed Forces' efforts to secure the borders, Military Spokesperson Gharib Abdel Hafez announced on Tuesday.
174 kilograms of drugs have been seized near the Al Awja border crossing, in addition, one person was killed due to fire exchange. Six persons who were involved in the drug smuggling operation were detained.
Abdel Hafez concluded that the Egyptian Armed Forces are completely ready to defend the borders and the lands of Egypt.
