Microsoft announced that it will no longer update its definitive WordPad, in addition to removing it from the upcoming Windows releases.
The giant Microsoft Word will be the most recommended software instead of the significant WordPad that was installed by Microsoft since Windows 95.
“WordPad is no longer being updated and will be removed in a future release of Windows,” a support note published by Microsoft said on Friday.
It added: “We recommend Microsoft Word for rich text documents like .doc and .rtf and Windows Notepad for plain text documents like .txt.”
The latest news came a day after the WordPad upgrade. Microsoft added various features for the app like autosave and automatic restoral of tabs. It was the first update for the application since 2018.
