Governor Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan has declared a state of emergency in certain areas of the state due to tornadoes that have struck.
Whitmer announced the state of emergency in the counties of Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Branch, and Cass after severe tornadoes hit them, as reported by ABC News today, Wednesday.
She stated that emergency teams will work to monitor the situation and assist residents.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Portage City in the state reported significant material losses in residential and commercial buildings after two tornadoes hit the area, in addition to power outages.
