For the first time since assuming office, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum spoke about the Israeli war in Gaza and Lebanon, condemning the Israeli attacks against Palestinians. She stated, "The Palestinian state must be fully recognized, just like the State of Israel, and this has been Mexico's position for many years."
During her press conference, Sheinbaum called for the two-state solution as the only path to ending the conflict in the Middle East, emphasizing that war will ultimately lead to no positive outcome. She also condemned the use of violence.
Sheinbaum reiterated former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's call for peace and urged the United Nations to take a "more proactive role."
