Argentina's icon and legend Lionel Messi will miss Argentina's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia due to injury.
Argentina will return to action in September as they continue their qualification campaign for the 2026 World Cup.
On Monday, Lionel Scaloni, the coach of Argentina who brought two Copa America titles, and a FIFA World Cup title to the country, named his 28-man squad for the upcoming games against Chile and Colombia.
The announced list didn't include Messi.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner is still out of action since suffering an ankle injury in Argentina’s Copa América final win last month.
Paulo Dybala, Franco Armani and Marcos Acuña also were not include in La Albiceleste list.
