German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that victory over the Coronavirus will only be achieved by vaccinating all of the world's population.

She confirmed, during the Munich Security Conference that she had spoken with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani a few days ago.

While the Group of 7 said that they will expand cooperation with health authorities to confront the deadly virus as 2021 is the turning point to end the pandemic of coronavirus.

The German Chancellor added her country will cooperate with the G20 to confront the repercussions of coronavirus, and support Japan's hosting of the Tokyo Olympics.

Al-Arabiya TV reported in flash news that Germany is pledging 1.5 billion euros for the global vaccination program against coronavirus.

On Friday, US President addressed the Munich Security Conference, which will be held hypothetically, in light of the continuing outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, The Paul Ehrlich Institute affiliated with the German Ministry of Health defended the vaccine of the British-Swedish company "AstraZeneca" after medical workers in some European countries, including Germany, refused to use the vaccine.

The institute said in a statement, that the vaccine "prevents Covid-19 disease in most cases or relieves symptoms when the disease appears."

The German institute added that "the side effects of vaccines occur a lot after receiving a dose, but they do not last for long and reflect the natural immune response to the vaccines."

It indicated that it had seen reports about an increase in cases of side effects of the "AstraZeneca" vaccine, including high temperature, headache, muscle pain, and a sense of the disease in general, in addition to other symptoms.

For his part, German Health Minister Jens Young said, commenting on reports about medical workers ’opposition to receiving AstraZeneca, that the vaccine is safe and effective, and that he will receive it immediately."

This comes against the backdrop of reports that many medical personnel has experienced side effects, and many doctors have refused to receive the vaccine.
