Media: Washington Plans to Deploy US Forces on Israeli Side of Border with Lebanon

 Arab media reported that Israel had agreed to let the Lebanese Hezbollah maintain a number of its observation points on the border. But Tel Aviv stipulates a French military presence on the Lebanese side of the border (with Israel), in addition to an American presence on the Israeli side of the border.

These media outlets reported, citing their sources, that “Israel has agreed to let the Lebanese Hezbollah maintain a number of its observation points on the border, but this condition will not enter into force unless the Lebanese army and French forces are stationed on the Lebanese-Israeli border.”

Israel also demands that the Lebanese army alone have weapons in the southern part of the country.

Al-Hadath TV reported, citing sources, that Israel is asking France to monitor the situation on the Lebanese side of the border (with Israel), while America will do the same on the Israeli side of the border.
