Media: Israeli Elite Forces Compelled to Withdraw from Gaza After Sustaining Heavy Losses

Yesterday, Thursday, fighters of the Golani Brigade in the Israeli army withdrew from the Gaza Strip after suffering heavy losses, according to Israeli media reports.

Reports from the Walla, an Israeli news website, and the Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Golani Brigade spent more than 70 days in Gaza, losing 44 fighters, and the fighters decided to leave the Strip for a few days to rest and visit their families.

This step came 9 days after a severe confrontation in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, where their commander and a number of other officers and fighters were killed, according to the Israeli Channel 12.

Following this confrontation, Golani fighters left the sector, and are expected to receive orders to return and participate in the battles again.
