The Muslim Council of Elders, under the chairmanship of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, congratulated the Arab and Muslim nations—its kings, princes, presidents, and peoples—on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
"May Allah bless this occasion on the Arab and Islamic nations and all of humanity with goodness, love, blessings, security, and stability. On this great occasion, which embodies the bonds of unity and solidarity among the members of the Islamic nation as reflected in the rituals of Hajj, the Muslim Council of Elders calls upon the Islamic nation to embrace solidarity, renounce division and discord, and avoid disputes and conflicts," the Council said in a statement.
It also urged people to embody love, unity, and goodness, to take this blessed opportunity to draw closer to Almighty Allah and to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of the poor and the marginalized by extending a helping hand, meeting their needs, and easing their burdens during these blessed days.
The Muslim Council of Elders also expressed its hope that goodness and peace will prevail in the Islamic world and all of humanity, and that this occasion will free the world from all conflicts and wars, with humanity enjoying greater security and stability.
