Minister of Manpower Hassan Shehata announced that next Thursday, October 5 will be a fully paid day off for all private sector employees to celebrate Armed Forces Day, which commemorates the victory of the 6 October 1973 War.
In a statement released on Monday, the minister noted that employers who will operate their businesses on that day should offer their employees double the normal wage.
This year, Egypt will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its victory against Israel under the leadership of late President Anwar El-Sadat.
