Malta's representative to the United Nations, Vanessa Frazier, announced that the UN Security Council is close to adopting a resolution on the Palestinian-Israeli escalation.
The Maltese delegate told reporters yesterday, Friday, in response to a question in this regard: “We are closer to that than we have ever been before.”
However, she did not reveal any details regarding the terms of the potential decision, saying only that she did not want to harm the process of drafting the document.
The UN Security Council discussed 4 draft resolutions regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict but was unable to adopt any of them.
Currently, 10 non-permanent members of the UN Security Council are working on drafting a new resolution, which is expected to include some provisions from the drafts that could not be adopted earlier.
