At least 18 civilians were killed on Saturday by gunfire in a village in central Mali, according to Russia Today.
Three village residents said that “gunmen opened fire on villagers three kilometers away from Diyalasago, leaving 18 dead and 21 wounded.”
On the other hand, a police source and a local official confirmed what happened.
Government forces in Mali are subjected to attacks from fundamentalist rebels. These attacks include bombing, attacking camps and cities, attacking security patrols, car bombings.
