A goal by Mali midfielder Amadou Haidara earned his nation a 1-0 win over Angola as they topped their group, and eliminated their opponents at the African Cup of Nations on Tuesday.
Mali finished Group E with two wins and a draw ranking first, while Angola ended up third with two points, which was not enough to take them through as one of the best third-placed teams.

Angola scored one goal in three games displayed great possession of the ball, but couldn't translate their attempts to a goal. Gelson Dala breached the Mali defence but shot straight at goalkeeper Djigui Diarra in the fifth minute.

Haidara scored the only goal of the match in the 37th minute as Mali, which put on one of the best displays in this year's tournament; it will meet in a super knockout round clash with Cote D'Ivoire in the second round.
Angola created plenty of openings in the second half but were let down by a poor final pass. They couldn't capitalize on their attempts.
