Speaking to journalists on Friday, the Foreign Minister emphasized that the decision is a clear representation of Malaysia's firm stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
He affirmed Malaysia's continued role in supporting the Palestinian cause internationally.
Malaysia announced on Wednesday that it would immediately prevent Israeli ships and vessels flying the Israeli flag from docking at Malaysian ports.
The government also imposed permanent restrictions on the Israeli shipping company, Zim, from docking at any Malaysian port.
