The Malaysian Ministry of Health announced that it detected two sub-variants of Omicron, BA.5.2, and BF.7, media reports indicated on Tuesday.
Those sub-variants are the main motivators of the latest Coronavirus outbreaks in China.
Director General of Health Malaysia Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah told the official news agency that 4,148 Coronavirus infections with BA.5.2 were reported on 31 December. In addition, three infections with BF.7.
He added that the latest detected mutations are sub-variants of Omicron, and those mutations were not classified as Variants of Concern.
In addition, both variants can emerge more than the previous mutations.
Abdullah concluded that the ministry of health would check its current measures against the virus.
