The prestigious Mahmoud Khalil Museum will be finally reopened on April 4 in the presence of the Minister of Culture Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, and the head of the Fine Art Sector Dr. Khaled Sorrour.
The minister highlighted that the opening of the museum would enhance the sense of cultural persity in the Egyptian scene of arts as it houses several rare and high-anticipated exhibits.
On his part, Sorrour asserted that the museum is considered one of the most valuable fine arts spots around the world.
The museum was closed in 2010 for restoration works including upgrading the architectural structure of the building, establishing new lighting and security systems, in addition to updating the museum display scenarios.
A number of exhibits were executed by figurative world-famed artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Gauguin, and Auguste Rodin.
The four-story palace was established in 1920 by artist Mahmoud Khalil on the French architectural style and it was turned to be a museum after the death of the artist's wife.
