Press reports have revealed that Spanish club Real Madrid have clearly informed Liverpool’s management that they have no intention of moving to sign Reds defender Ibrahima Konaté, neither in the summer transfer window nor in the winter one.

The French international is nearing the end of his contract with Liverpool, with no agreement yet reached on a new deal, which means he could leave on a free transfer next summer.

According to the English outlet The Athletic, Liverpool have offered Konaté an attractive new contract, but the 26-year-old has yet to respond.

The report added that the La Liga club directly told Liverpool officials that they currently have no interest in signing the French defender.

The newspaper stressed that it remains uncertain whether Konaté will decide to stay at Liverpool, especially given interest from other major clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the French site Foot Mercato, PSG are closely monitoring the situation in preparation for making a move for Konaté during the next summer transfer window.

Konaté has attracted interest from several major European clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid have now shifted its focus toward signing Dayot Upamecano after reaching a verbal agreement, while PSG continue to see Konaté as a primary target to strengthen its defense.
