Madbouly visits National Vegetable Oil Company factory

During his tour today in Alexandria Governorate to inspect a number of industrial projects, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly inspected the National Vegetable Oil Company factory in Burg Al Arab.

At the beginning of his visit to the factory, the Prime Minister pointed out that the oil industry in Egypt is considered one of the promising industries that has opportunities for growth, stressing the importance of attracting local and foreign investments to work in this field in order to provide the needs of the local market, reduce the import bill, and achieve a link between Agriculture and industry.

Engineer Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, indicated that the government aims to increase local production of vegetable oils and deepen the national industry in this field, within the framework of the state’s plan to promote various industries, especially those that contribute to reducing imports.

He explained that SOYVEN owns and operates the National Vegetable Oil Company, and the company has succeeded in reaching the maximum production capacity of 2 million tons annually in 2021. The company has also achieved an export surplus of soybean oil and has contributed to bridging the import gap in the Egyptian market.
