The National Office for Risk and Disaster Management in Madagascar reported that 11 people were killed and more than 7,000 others were injured due to Tropical Cyclone Gamane.

Yesterday, 6 people were killed and 2,600 others were injured, and more than 1,200 huts and many roads and bridges were submerged or completely destroyed.

Madagascar is exposed to about 30-40 tropical cyclones per year, during the rainy season from October to March, and such storms are often very destructive.
