French President Emmanuel Macron, congratulated, on Thursday, 26 November, Lebanese President Michel Aoun, in a message, on the seventy-seventh anniversary of Lebanon's independence, affirming that France stands with Lebanon and its people all the time.
Macron stressed that the Lebanese women and men can count on France's support to meet their urgent needs in the fields of food, health, education and housing, stating that they are working, in cooperation with the United Nations and all our partners, to hold an international conference in order to support the Lebanese people.
Macron mentioned that the multifaceted crisis that Lebanon is going through, on various economic, financial, social, and political levels, calls for strong measures to be taken, offering solutions; the roadmap that all political parties committed to on the first of September must be implemented.
This road map fulfills the requirements of Lebanon, as well as the legitimate expectations expressed by the Lebanese people.
The French president called on "all political forces to put aside their personal, sectarian and factional interests in order to achieve the supreme interest of Lebanon alone and its people."
He concluded his message by saying: "Your Excellency, you can be assured that France stands today, as at all times, with Lebanon and the Lebanese people."
