NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed on Saturday, the situation along Ukraine's borders, over the phone.
This came ahead of Macron's upcoming visit to Russia.
"Good to speak up President Emmnauel Macron on Russia's military build-up in and around Ukraine," Stoltenberg tweeted.
NATO chief also welcomed Macron's personal adherence to NATO's dual position towards Russia, which is based on dialogue and deterrence.
"NATO unity is key at this critical moment," he affirmed.
