Liverpool's Alexander Isak Undergoes Successful Surgery

Liverpool announced on Monday that their Swedish striker Alexander Isak has successfully undergone ankle surgery following a recent injury.

In an official statement, Liverpool confirmed that Isak had a successful surgical operation on his ankle after sustaining an injury in the club’s recent match against Tottenham Hotspur in the 17th round of the English Premier League.

The English Premier League side explained that Isak was injured during the Tottenham match after a strong challenge from Spurs defender Cristian Romero while the striker was scoring the opening goal for the Reds. 

Isak was later forced to leave the pitch due to the injury.

Liverpool added that medical examinations revealed a fracture to the fibula bone connected to the ankle joint, which required surgical intervention to stabilize the fracture. The operation was carried out successfully.

The club also stated that the Swedish forward will begin a rehabilitation program in the coming period at the AXA Training Centre, without specifying an exact date for his return to match action.

Although Liverpool did not officially announce the duration of Isak’s absence, media reports suggest he could be sidelined for between three and four months, with a possible return before the end of the season, depending on his recovery and response to treatment and rehabilitation.
