The Spanish Football League confirmed that it had summoned a lip-reading expert to investigate alleged insults directed by Englishman Jude Billingham, the Real Madrid star, to his compatriot, Getafe midfielder Mason Greenwood.
Agence France-Presse reported today, Saturday, February 3, citing the Spanish Football League, that the league summoned a lip-reading expert to investigate alleged insults directed by Englishman Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid star, to his compatriot, Getafe midfielder Mason Greenwood.
A spokesman for the Spanish Football League said, “Getafe submitted a complaint to the league’s match director, as is usual in these types of events. The league requested an expert to read lips and act according to the evidence.”
According to scenes published by Spanish media, attacking midfielder Bellingham (20 years old), who is having a wonderful season after moving from German club Borussia Dortmund, appeared to describe Greenwood as a “rapist” during the match in which Real Madrid won 2-0 at Getafe on Thursday.
Greenwood (22 years old and one international match) was loaned from Manchester United to Getafe until the end of the season, after being suspended in 2022 by the English Premier League, following accusations of rape and assault against his partner.
The charges against him were dropped in February 2023, allowing him to relaunch his career in the Madrid suburb, where he has so far scored 4 goals in 18 matches this season
